Beebo's in Brooklyn

For one of my aunt's birthday's we headed over to Beebo Seafood located in Brooklyn, New York.

The Fishie Shaped Bread Stick

Sex on the Beach!

How I decided to kick-start my meal! haha :) This place has an open bar, a great selection of wines and mixed drinks made to order. They also have a good line-up of yummy house signature drinks.

Linguini White Clam Sauce.. with the clams still in the shell.. so yummy, and fresh!
Pistachio & Kalamata Olive Encrusted King Salmon
with Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Veggies

So I ordered the Pistachio and Kalamata Olive Encrusted King Salmon with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and some Veggies. Let me tell you, this Salmon literally melted in mouth. Pecans and salmon.. sounds like an odd pairing, but omgoodness, it was absolute heaven. I literally savoured every bite.. took me forever to finish it.

Shrimp and Lobster with Garlic Mashed Potatoes

For the Non-Fish Lovers

Cappucino...

and Some Birthday Cake!

I would absolutely go back to Beebo's over and over again! Located @ 8518 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11209; in the Bay Ridge area. The open bar, restaurant area and party rooms were beautiful and elegant yet felt relaxing and cozy. My cousins had pre-planned for this birthday dinner, so one of the restaurant's managers acted as our personal host the entire evening. Overall, it was a really great night.

Order from the Raw Bar, you won't be disappointed. We ordered Raw clams and other treats over and over. Couldn't get enough. The cleanest and freshest I've had yet. Those in the party who had never tried Raw Shellfish before were also pleasantly surprised at how good it was.

Check out their own photo gallery to see nice pics of their interiors. :)

Winter Jones Beach Adventure

This Valentine's Day I decided to give myself an afternoon treat
and run away to the beach for some fresh air, peace and solace.
.....

Look at this fireball.. amazing..

Look at how the sky swirls! The sun looks like a planet.

For a dark winter day, the sky is still so beautiful! :)

Even for a cold winter day, the shore is so calming and relaxing.

Strolled along side a feathery friend.

Love the glistening water :)

One of my favorite pics of the day. The shadowing, crisp glistening water, the way the sun is glowing :)

Mario's Bakery Cheesecake

Who doesn't love a good cheesecake?

I've met people who live all over Long Island, but all go to Mario's Bakery for their baked goods, they're just that good. This strawberry cheesecake isn't for the faint of heart! Super rich and creamy, but not overly sweet, a slice of this will more then fill you up and definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. Mario's has all the yummy goodies you need within a budget. This strawberry cheesecake currently goes for $12.00! That's a steal when you think about how much you would pay for one half as fresh, and not nearly as good, from a local grocery store. Mario's Bakery is located at ... 409 Merrick Road, Oceanside, New York, 11572.

Burger, Fries & Strawberry Shake from Shake Shack

Burger, Fries, and a Strawberry Shake from Shake Shack  .... yum!

Mouthwatering burger that melts in your mouth, from Shake Shack!

Took a stroll through the Upper West Side, Manhattan, NYC... visited a local favorite for all things burger and fries! Upon approaching the Shake Shack during lunch hour, the line swirls throughout the joint and right out the door! You would think customers would get discouraged and leave, but most look happy to wait for their meal. I ordered a regular burger with lettuce and tomatoe... with a side of curly fries and a fresh-made strawberry shake. Omgoodness... this burger wasn't rare or super greasy but still managed to melt in my mouth. I have never experienced a burger that could do this and have yet to experience it since. The fries were pretty good also... and the shake was on point too. Visit their site and find a location asap.. definitely worth a try!

Sushi!

California Roll, Shrimp Tempura and another roll.. yum!

Kamakazi Roll (tuna, avocado and spicy mayo), Tokyo Roll (with shrimp)

So my biffle and I adore Sushi and crave it almost weekly. These are some pics from our first time out feasting on the yummy raw rolled up fishies :)

This time out, we went to Izumi Japanese Asian Bistro, located in Bethpage, New York. The atmosphere is really cozy and I happen to think their bar area is quite pretty. :) The staff is always really friendly and super attentive. Sushi has a rep for being pricey, but they have some affordable lunch specials and combos that can get you a variety of treats at a decent price.

Hard at work, making our Sushi... (photo taken from our booth! lol)

My Fav Homemade Salad Yet

So I decided to eat something healthy...

So I made myself a salad with a mix of romaine and iceburg lettuce, sliced cherry tomatoes, sliced green peppers, mushrooms, shreds of mozzarella, and sprinkled with a mango ginger dressing mango ginger dressing... on the side I made myself some tuna salad. I drain the juice from the can, run some water, drain again.. add celery for some crunch and mayo.

Homemade Cupcakes with Sprinkles

Baked cupcakes with the kiddos the other day...

There is nothing like babysitting and being threatened by a child to bake with them or they will make up horrible stories of how terrible you were at babysitting.. This is how I was suckered into baking a ridiculous amount of cupcakes on this particular day.   :)

Quote of the day... The lil man I was watching approached me:
"Yay, it's just me and you! No adults around!"
I guess it's good to be considered young at heart, no? lol

Tomato & Artichoke Pizza ... Vegetable Dumplings

Yummy Tomato and Artichoke Pizza

Vegetable Dumplings

So one huge perk of interning in NYC was all the food available everywhere!
My internship supervisor took my to a local pizza parlor where we had Tomato & Artichoke pizza... on the way back to work we decided to stop by the Central Park Tavern on the Green where a few unique Food Trucks stay lined up by the outdoor patio during warmer months. Here I approached the Richshaw Dumplings food truck, where you can order several different varieties of dumplings, each paired with it's own special dipping sauce. I chose the veggie dumpling, it was light, almost airy, but full of flavor. The dipping sauce had a kick but wasn't overwhelming.

Update: 1/02/2012 The food trucks are currently not available in Central Park anymore :( You can still grab your own Rickshaw Dumplings at one of their Dumpling Bars.

Turkey Ciabatta Panini

Turkey Ciabatta Panini

Another food favorite during my time at my internship in the Big Apple. This delish panini was from The Muffins Cafe located Columbus Avenue, near Lincoln Square in NYC. The cafe is tiny, consisting of perhaps 3 or 4 tiny cafe tables, but the atmosphere is quite cozy, quaint and crisp. Many locals come here for their daily cup o'joe, while other stop in for a variety of fresh made-to-order sandwiches and panini's made right at the main counter for all to see. I had my Turkey Ciabatta made with lettuce, tomato, and a dap of their special sauce, which was special indeed. Another great panini to try here is the Grilled Vegetables & Mozzerella... oh so yumm!!!
